Ayat Mohammed

Computational Scientist

Ayat Mohammed joined ARC as a computational scientist in 2023. Her focus is on user-facing scientific visualization. 

Ayat earned her PhD in Computer Science at Virginia Tech, and served as a graduate research assistant for ARC from 2014 to 2017, where she provided visualization support for research, including data visualization solutions, high-performance visualization, big data processing and visualization, and immersive and virtual environments. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship working with the visualization group at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC), and at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. Ayat also taught computer science classes at UT Austin and Ain Shams University in Egypt, and she conducted research at the Ain Shams Virtual Hospital.
