Nicole Braunscheidel

Computational Scientist

Nicole Braunscheidel joined Advanced Research Computing (ARC) as a computational scientist in June 2025.

She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in 2024. Her research focused on using and developing the Mayhall group’s tensor product quantum chemistry open-source software to study the excited states of molecular systems, particularly those that exhibit singlet fission which have applications in solar cells and molecular qubits.

Nicole brings with her not only computational science expertise, but also familiarity of ARC resources and functionality as she used them regularly for her research. When she is not working, you can usually find her out on a golf course, hiking with her dog, or playing competitive adult volleyball.
