Saikat Dey
Saikat joined ARC in August 2022 and is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. His research focuses on scaling graph-based models for large-scale applications such as intrusion detection. He was part of the DARPA-funded P-CORE project, which involves collecting anonymized network data and enabling real-time intrusion detection. At ARC, Saikat is involved with the helpdesk team where he assists researchers in migrating and scaling their workloads on ARC’s supercomputers. He is also a member of the OnDemand team, where he develops user-friendly scientific software interfaces to make ARC’s resources accessible to broader research folks. Through his helpdesk role, Saikat enjoys collaborating with Virginia Tech researchers and students, engaging in discussions on diverse research topics, and going the extra mile to support their academic and research success. Before joining Virginia Tech, Saikat worked as a Technical Consultant at Microsoft in India. Apart from work, he likes to travel and read world history.
