ARC offers a range of high-performance computing services to help Virginia Tech faculty and students achieve their research goals.

ARC's resources include high-performance computing systems, large-scale data storage, visualization facilities, software, and consulting services. Our services are available to faculty and students in all departments and disciplines, regardless of prior experience with high-performance computing.

Compute Clusters

ARC offers a variety of CPU, GPU, and high-throughput computing clusters. Learn more about our compute resources.

Storage

ARC offers a variety of data storage options, including long-term individual and shared storage, fast input-output options, and archival storage.

Visualization

Visualization can be a great tool to help researchers and learners better analyze and understand complex data. ARC offers visualization services including 3D immersive visualization through our Visionarium as well as high-performance visualization.

Consulting

Our team offers consulting for new and existing ARC users to answer questions and provide support in areas such as: 

  • Getting started with ARC's systems
  • Selecting an ARC system to work with
  • Compiling code and using software on ARC's systems
  • Getting started with parallel computing
  • Optimizing algorithms and code

Teaching and Training

Training opportunities are available throughout the year to help you get the most out of ARC resources. These include introductory workshops through the TLOS Professional Development Network (PDN), as well as guest lectures and classroom presentations for undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, math, and other departments. Video tutorials are also available on our documentation site.
