Adeyemi Aina

Research Software Engineer

Adeyemi “Yemi” Aina is a Research Software Engineer with Virginia Tech’s Advanced Research Computing (ARC), which he joined in January 2026. He earned his M.S. at Virginia Tech with support from a National Science Foundation award in the Digital Education Research group, where he implemented secure learning technologies and interoperability protocols including Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) 1.3 single sign on, Open Authorization 2.0, and JSON Web Tokens. He also designed an ontology driven, Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) based catalog that automates classification and real time validation for computer science content. He also worked developing an API gateway that orchestrates AI microservices for an Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) system.

Before joining ARC, Yemi worked as a Technology Consultant at KPMG, developing and deploying enterprise software, and he also held software engineering roles in other organizations. His interests include software engineering, machine learning, and AI; outside of work, he enjoys sports and anything Sci-Fi.
