Dr. Terry L. Herdman was appointed to the position of Associate Vice President for Research Computing at Virginia Tech, August 2005. He was responsible for advocacy, planning, funding, and organization of research computing campus-wide. Dr. Herdman also served as professor of mathematics and as director for the Interdisciplinary Center for Applied Mathematics from 1987 to 2022. He retired from Virginia Tech in September 2022.
